Data protection principles

Data protection principles are valid for the websites of the journal Science & Military issued by the Armed Forces Academy of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik, Demänová 393, 031 01  Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovak Republic.

Information on rules for processing of personal data

The Editorial office of Science & Military takes care to protect personal data. It is important that you know, that personal data submitted to us are processed in a responsible and transparent manner and in line with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation). You have the right to ask for information on your registered personal data and ask for their modification or removal, if they are processed on behalf of your previous consent. In case of automatized processing, you have the right to portability of personal data and to not be the subject of the decision covered solely by this taking of a decision. For any additional information on processing of your personal data you may write to the Editorial office of Science & Military journal.

Protection of personal data

Editorial office of Science & Military journal  takes care of the personal data security. We have taken technical and organisational measures to protect your data given the importance of the data-processing. To the data we receive from you no unauthorised person will have access and the data are not disclosed to a third party without the consent of the data subjects, unless required by law or in order to protect our legal interests.

The right to information

It is your right to ask Editorial office of Science & Military journal for information on what personal data and to what extent we process. This information will be provided for free no later than in 30 days, in emergency situations, no later than in 90 days. Concerning the extension of the deadline you will be informed inatimely manner. If you ask for information on your personal data registered in our institution, we will first need to verify your identity. In your letter give sufficient identification of yourself. If necessary, we have the right to ask for further evidence concerning your identification before we provide the personal data processed. It is our right to state reasons for rejection in case the requirements are unjustified or are repeated inadequately, or involve a disproportionate effort and it would be difficult to obtained them (archives etc.).

Right to data portability

The data subject shall have the right to receive the personal data concerning him or her, which he or she has provided to a controller, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to another controller.

Updates of data, the right to rectification

Since the personal data might change over time (e.g. last name), we will beg lad if you inform us about any changes, so that we can rectify your personal data and prevent eventual misunderstandings. The information on changes in personal data is necessary for our activities. It is also your right to rectification of personal data processed by our institution. If you shall discover, that your personal data registered in our institution are no longer valid, you have the right to obtain rectification. You can check on your data on the website of Science & Military. If you are not sure, or you want to make changes in your personal data, please contact Editorial office of journal Science & Military.

Objections

You shall have the right to object in case you believ your personal data are not being processed in line with the law of SR and EU, we will subsequently verify the relevance of your objection. At the time of your objection the processing of your personal data will be suspended until the objection is verified. You will be informed that it is our right to apply to the appropriate authority: Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic.

Right to restriction of processing

You shall have the right to obtain from the controller restriction of processing, in case you believe the accuracy of the personal data is contested, the processing is unlawful, and we no longer need the personal data for the purposes of the processing.

Right to erasure

If you have given consent to the processing of your personal data (e.g. email address), you have the right to obtain the erasure of the data and we will be obliged to erase the data we process based on your previous consent. The right to erasure does not apply to the extent that processing is necessary for purposes within the obligations defined in contract, legal reasons or legitimate interests. If any of the data are stored in back-up systems to avoid the loss of data in the event of a disaster, we cannot delete these data, it is often technically impossible. These data, however, are not being processed any further and will not serve for further purposes of processing.
